Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
Myers Briggs Types Indicator (MBTI) is the most widely used instrument for understanding normal personality differences. Ken is a highly experienced MBTI practitioner. He has used MBTI process with teams and individuals. In particular, MBTI is a fantastic tool to use when helping team members better appreciate the diversity within the group, improving trust and cohesion.
By way of background, the purpose of the Myers Briggs Types Indicator is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people’s lives. The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in the behavior is actually quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the ways individuals prefer to use their perception and judgment.
Jung theorised that there are four principal psychological functions by which we experience the world: sensation, intuition, feeling, and thinking. One of these four functions is dominant most of the time.
The Myers Briggs Types Indicator is used for a wide variety of purposes:
- Self-understanding and development
- Career development and exploration
- Organisational development
- Team building
- Management and leadership training
- Problem solving
The Myers Briggs Type Indicator works very well with helping coaching clients gain a better understanding of how they view the world, and sets up actions based on their own personal and business goals.
Ken regularly conducts full and half day training courses on MBTI, please get in touch if you are interested in finding out more about these courses.
